Thailand has something for everyone, an exciting capital, fun nightlife, beaches, mountains, shopping and temples. Many visitors to Thailand tend to visit Bangkok, Chiang Mai then the beach but to really see the real Thailand then car rental in Thailand is highly recommended.
There’s no real need to hire a car when you are in Bangkok, unless you enjoy sitting in traffic. It’s far easier to travel by public transport or take a tuk tuk to the various sights such as Wat Po and the Grand Palace.
Heading south to the islands, the roads are great if you want to drive but it’s cheaper or quicker to take a bus, train or flight down south and then get cheap car hire in Thailand once you get to the islands.
